Well, we have been here at the International Learning Center for about a month now, so we thought we should let you know what we have been doing. We actually have had a large amount of training in this short time. Chad and Crystal study with some of the greatest teachers in Baptist mission work each day.
We have been learning how to pray for and work with God in starting Church Planting Movements. We have had in-depth studies in spiritual warfare. We have studied the principles of mission work and how to work best with others in sharing the Gospel. Another wonderful class series was on how to do Chronological Bible Storying. This is a method for sharing God’s Word by telling the stories in order as they happened in the Bible. This is a very effective way to share the Word with people who cannot read. Did you know that about 85% of the world is illiterate?
Chase gets to go to “school” too. He really enjoys it. He has made several friends and has some very nice teachers. They have been learning about families and what God has made. They have also collected quite a few bugs, spiders, caterpillars, etc. in jars to watch. They have two gerbils named Faith and Hope, and another part of the school has a guinea pig named Snickers. Chase loves to watch and help feed all of these little critters!
As we are preparing to go to Senegal, we thought you might be interested in learning more about the Wolof people who live there. You can go to a website called www.ByHisGrace.cc/WolofTeam to find out more. It is a fairly new website, so not all of the links work, but you can still learn a great deal.
We still have some prayer requests that we would ask you to join us in lifting before the Father:
1) We are praying for our house to sell soon.
2) We praise the Lord that Crystal’s pregnancy is going well. We pray for continued health for her and for the baby.
3) Pray for us to finish our training well and to remember what we have learned.
4) Pray for Chad as he works on completing a seminary course.
5) Pray for our housing in Dakar to work out.
6) Pray for the ministry we will be a part of in Senegal
Thank you! Thank you! We appreciate all of your prayers so much. Each of you is a blessing in our lives.
